Description

Flavours of the ripening fruit helped the winemaking team to harvest fruit at optimal ripeness. Shiraz and Grenache parcels were crushed and fermented separately. Fermentation using neutral yeast strains took place over a period of 10-14 days, and involved the use of a variety of cap management and temperature regimes to ensure ideal flavour, colour and tannin extraction occurred. Parcels of wine, once pressed off skins, underwent malolactic fermentation and further maturation in American oak barrels. Only parcels that showed concentrated ripe berry characters with balanced structure and complexity were used in the final blending of this wine.

Deep crimson with vibrant purple hues.

PALATE
A seamless combination of dense dark berry Shiraz fruit balanced by the softer fragrant Grenache. The wine has a generous mid palate with dark cherry, plum and ripe red berry flavours, and a distinctive spicy finish.

BOUQUET
Ripe red berries, black cherries and spice aromas with some currant and Turkish delight from the Grenache supported by subtle cedary oak characters.”

Ingredients

  1. 1 bottle of George Wyndham Shiraz Grenache 750ml (Preferably Grenache or Tempranillo)
  2. 45 ml of Your Favourite Brandy
  3. 480 ml of Your Favourite Ginger Ale
  4. 1 lemon
  5. 1 orange
  6. 1 apple
  7. 2 tbsp of sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the lemon, orange and apple into wedges.
  2. Add the fruits into a pitcher and muddle it for 45 seconds.
  3. Add the brandy and ginger ale and muddle it again for 30 seconds.
  4. Next, pour in the red wine. Add in the sugar. Stir gently to incorporate the flavours together.
  5. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap. Rest it in the refrigerator for a minimum of 8 hours before serving.
