Description

The Montagne Saint-Emilion appellation, located just outside the village of Saint-Emilion between Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, encompasses approximately 1,600 hectares of vineyards. Château Labattut, a family-owned estate, is situated near the hamlet of Labattut on a well-drained hillside with ideal southern exposure.

Tasting Notes

Appearance

Deep ruby-red with a vibrant rim.

Nose

Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and subtle notes of liquorice, complemented by hints of crushed red berries and a delicate touch of fresh tobacco.

Palate

Juicy and fruity, offering smoothness and a fine tension. The wine expresses notes of luscious raspberry, fresh red fruits, and a touch of violet, along with hints of blackberry, cardamom, clove, and vanilla. The tannins are finely firm, providing structure and balance.
