This wine has become a symbol of the changes in Sicily's viticulture. In 1985, Planeta began to cultivate other grapes in addition to indigenous varieties. The Chardonnay vines grow in vineyards in a unique location. The grapes are harvested and processed with the utmost care before the character of the wine is completed by maturing it in oak barrels. The wine is golden yellow in colour with hints of green and its bouquet lush with notes of yellow fruit, honey, pistachio and citrus blossom. The Planeta Chardonnay is creamy on the palate, with balanced freshness and gentle woody notes. A wine with excellent ageing potential.
