Chateau Le Juge is situated in Preignac, at the heart of the Sauternes appellation. According to the producer, its wines are made from hand-picked grapes, often in several successive passes to harvest only botrytised berries, then vinified with care.
The vineyard covers around 12 ha and yields are low to concentrate fruit and botrytis expression.
In terms of vinification: after harvest the wine is fermented in small vats, part aged in stainless steel vats and part in one-year-old oak barrels for around 18-24 months.
This 2018 vintage falls into the broader context of a good Sauternes year, where botrytis development was favourable and acidity held up well.
