An unusual distillery, installed since 1965 in the south of the Highlands in a former cotton weaving factory bordering the River Teith which is used for the production of whisky but also to supply the distillery with electricity! This young distillery wants to be traditional and uses ancestral methods and local ingredients.
Fermentation is particularly slow, it takes 100 hours to develop fruity and complex flavours. 15% of production is used for Single Malts, the rest for blends, liqueurs, and whisky creams.
Distilled in 2008, this Single Malt was aged for 14 years in 1st fill sherry casks. Reduced at 46°, non chill-filtered, natural colour.
