It can be easily found in restaurants and bars throughout the country. Caipirinha is made with Cachaca. Cachaca is a sweet, clear rum that is popular throughout the country.
To fully immense yourself in the culture, you can say either “Saúde” (pronounce it saw-OO-jay) or “tim-tim,” (pronounced ching ching, similar to Italian).

- 60ml Cachaca
- 1 lime
- 4 teaspoons of sugar
- Cut lime to four small wedges
- Place lime and sugar into old fashion glass and mash it together with a wooden spoon
- Fill the glass with ice and add the Cachaca for the final flavouring!
