The Riddle plays on Thomas Hardy’s character – just as solving riddles requires wit and careful thinking, his engaging character and touch of daring enabled him to establish a successful wine empire. The Riverland has a climate well suited for growing vines, with warm summer days and plenty of sunshine allowing full fruit flavours and sugars to develop. This year we had ideal conditions with warm days, cool nights and little or no rain. This led to excellent ripening conditions resulting in bright ripe fruit. This wine displays aromatic flavours of citrus, lychee and passionfruit with delicate herbaceous notes.
