Jose Cuervo’s Reserva de la Familia Anejo Cristalino is a luxury, small‑batch tequila expression from one of the most historic names in tequila production, created to deliver both the depth and complexity of aging and the clarity and smoothness of a “cristalino” style.
This spirit begins with premium, mature blue Weber agave from the family’s estate fields in Jalisco, Mexico. The production involves traditional cooking of the agave often in stone ovens , long fermentation in copper pot stills, and careful aging.
Once matured, the tequila is aged in virgin American oak barrels for approximately one year and then finished for about six months in Spanish Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, a finishing touch that imbues richness of dried fruit and sweet‑wine nuances.
What distinguishes the “Cristalino” style is the final filtration: after aging, the spirit undergoes charcoal filtering, removing the colour gained from barrel ageing yet maintaining the mature flavour profile. The result is a clear tequila that retains the complexity of aging, with smoothness and elegance
